SETTLEMENT BARAT, VIŠNJAN

 

 

 

Barat is one of the fifty-four villages of the municipality Višnjan. It is located approx. 1.5 km south of Višnjan and east of the traffic route Višnjan-Bačva and of the so called Istrain Y (highway section).

The Višnjan municipality consists of two parts: the old part is located on a hill, while the newer parts have been built along the northeastern and southwestern line. In the newer part there are two stores, a post office, a bank, an observatory, an elementary school, a kindergarten, a secondary school, the municipal hall and the municipal administration building. At the central park there is a large solar clock. Višnjan is the center of the rural settlements in its surrounding and contributes to the quality of life in the settlement Barat.
